Reflections: 2019 OKC Discipleship Conference

Once again the generations of disciples and disciple-makers gathered together for the annual Oklahoma City Navigators Discipleship conference. This year, our main speaker was a local Navigators Collegiate staffer, Bryce Bouchard, and he shared a powerful message

on “Advancing the gospel of Jesus.” His three main sessions were centered around 1 Thessalonians 2:8, and each session focused on Love, Life, and the Gospel. Starting with Love, Bryce shared a powerful metaphor from Harriet Tubman’s life, who as a runaway slave, returned from freedom 13 times to free others. As someone who remembered captivity she not only remembered but loved the other captives enough to help them find freedom, and as followers of Christ who have been set free from captivity, God’s love for us and our love for others should compel us to share the Gospel and our lives.

so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.”-1 Thessalonians 2:8

Saturday, some of Oklahoma’s premier disciple-makers led 13 different workshops covering topics from foundational spiritual disciplines to specific topics like “how to make disciples in impoverished communities.”

Also during the 2 day conference, Morgan and Anna shared testimonies of how other people’s love for them modeled the love of Christ and shared how it’s compelled them to grow in their relationship with the Lord so they can do the same for others.
